Great place to try some szechuan hot pot and have a fun Chinese dinner experience. The place is so cute!!!! It's a very fun, cultural dinner experience. I love the decor of the place. We got the tomato soup and spicy broth. Everything was super good. The brown sugar rice cake was warm and crispy. Deep fried pork was great leftovers for the next day. And I was impressed with this long green root vegetable that I never had before. Apparently, all the girls in China love these stuff. Zero calorie "noodle." I guess I'm a basic girl. I tried this soymilk drink too. It was good. But beware, it had peanuts in it for those who are allergic. The atmosphere here is fun and so many things to try. I would recommend

This is culturally correct sichuan hotpot. Fantastic food, all super fresh and great experience. Parking is tough though. So many popular food places in the shopping center that it is crowded! But worth it

I love this place. This is a type of place where even if the service is okay, I would still come back for the food because it's so good! Their shrimp paste is the best I've ever had. So bouncy and tasty. They also have two different types of beef tongue and I tried both. The flower looking was was way better than the long thin one (I forget which is which). The long thin one was way too chewy. The flower one was tender. They have a good sauce selection with small tasty appetizers/snacks/fruits. Their shabu add-ons are honestly decently priced with great portions compared to other a la carte restaurants. However, because the portions are big, it's more enjoyable with parties 3+ to be able to order and try more things.

Calling all spice lovers! If you're up for a fiery feast, look no further than Lao Ma Tou in Rowland Heights. I've become a regular here, and let me tell you, the heat is no joke. The first time we tried their medium-spicy broth, it was a bit too intense for us, so we dialed it down to mild on our second visit - still brought the heat but without the inferno! Now, onto the game plan. Lao Ma Tou is on the pricier side, so choose your hot pot ingredients wisely. I stuck to my go-to picks - youtiao, meats, shrimp paste, yam noodles, duck feet, and pork intestines. But here's the catch - their sauce station felt a tad lackluster, and they charge extra for it. Pro tip: If you're not big on saucing, ask them to skip it to save a few bucks. But let's cut to the chase - when it comes to flavor, Lao Ma Tou delivers! It's a meal that'll have you feeling it twice, if you catch my drift. And here's a little insider tip - swing by early and add your name to the Yelp waitlist. That way, you'll get a heads-up when your pot's bubbling and ready to go!

Went again recently and it was even better the second time because I knew just what to order and how to order it. Asking for the mala spicy broth to be as minimally spicy as possible yielded great results. It was still super spicy, but much more manageable. It was about as much as Buldak fire noodle for reference. Standout items were the shrimp balls, which were a lot softer and more tender than store bought frozen ones, and the wide array of tofu items that are offered. I also ordered the beef tendons, which were delicious last time but tasted stinky/old this time. Copious amounts of sauce were needed to mask the taste. Don't skip the dessert items, as it's nice to keep on eating when your mouth is just burning too much from the hot pot. The brown sugar rice cakes are great fresh but very filling-- they are better shared with a larger group because they don't heat up well later. I really liked the dessert snow fungus soup and red bean balls. They also have red bean porridge and another soup at the self serve bar, but these are unsweetened and honestly a little unpalatable unless you add your own sugar. This time, the wait time was unfortunately awful though. I wouldn't come again on Saturday. We were waiting over an hour and a half, and by the time we were seated, the kitchen closed very quickly after. Not our server's fault, but we felt just a little rushed. Thankfully, management is great at this location. They let you take leftovers home so we wouldn't waste any food, and they gave us soup containers instead of boxes so we were even able to have plenty of broth to heat up later for the leftover stuff. Excited to be back again, but I'd come at opening or on a weekday next time.

(IG: @foodwideni) Had Hot Pot at @laomatouhotpot in Rowland Heights with the family! We were impressed by the large portion size, quality of bone broth soup and amount of food we ended up ordering! We would definitely come back here again for a quality hot pot experience. Plenty of seating inside&outside & parking lot available.

A meal worth getting hangry for. This place was packed on a Sunday night and you have to manually add yourself to the Yelp waitlist when you arrive so be prepared to wait if you arrive at peak dinner time. Once we placed our order online, the waitresses were quick to get us our items. We got the half spicy and half bone broth and went to go make our sauce while it heated up. For meat, we got the Angus beef short rib slice (definitely recommend), lamb shoulder slice, crispy fried pork, and fish fillet. Frozen tofu is also a must because it soaks up all the delicious broth since it acts like a sponge. I'm also a huge lover of veggies so I couldn't pass up the vegetables combo which also soaks up the broth nicely. The service is quick and efficient and the food is amazing. We came here to celebrate a birthday and we all left happy and satisfied with our meal.

1o.o8.2o23 Came here for a late night dinner with a starving tummy. It was crazy how there was still a long line at 9pm. We got the bone broth only and it was delicious. One of the combo meat we got has a spicy beef, cook that in the broth and it becomes a spicy broth because of all of the seasoning and spices on the beef! It was good though. I liked the shrimp paste in bamboo shoot. The shrimp balls were very airy. My husband liked it but it wasn't my thing. You have to get the fried pork. That was so good! Then of course, there's the lamb and beef! Overall, it was a very satisfying and yummy meal.
